Bio

Who I Am

I'm Arin, a Licensed Professional Counselor - Candidate and National Certified Counselor at GPS Therapies in the Owasso area. With a background in recreational therapy and years of direct work with youth, I'm drawn to clients whose lives don't follow a straight trail. My approach is relational and whole-person, I meet people where they are and work alongside them toward real, lasting change.

My Approach

I hold an M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Oklahoma State University’s CACREP-accredited program. In the therapy room, I take an integrative approach, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), attachment-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, motivational interviewing, existential, narrative, and strengths-based frameworks. I tailor each session to the individual, honoring the complexity of every person’s lived experience and supporting values-aligned change that feels sustainable and meaningful.

I believe healing happens in relationship — both within the therapeutic space and in how we learn to relate to ourselves and others. I place strong emphasis on authenticity, psychoeducation, and helping clients develop language for their internal world. When we understand why we think, feel, and respond the way we do, we gain clarity and choice. Therapy with me is collaborative, grounded, and centered on genuine human connection.

Areas of Focus

I work with adolescents and adults navigating trauma and complex PTSD, ADHD and neurodivergent experiences, anxiety, depression, substance use and dual diagnosis, identity development, relational challenges, and life transitions. I have experience supporting clients in individual, group, family, and school-based settings. I value helping people make sense of their experiences in a way that feels empowering, so that each person leaves my office feeling more validated, witnessed, and confident in the unique strengths they bring to life’s beauty and challenges.

I am deeply committed to providing affirming care for LGBTQIA+ individuals and marginalized communities. My clinical work is informed not only by formal training, but also by years of advocacy as a national speaker and published author of Some Assembly Required, focused on identity, resilience, and healing. Above all, I strive to create a space where clients feel seen, understood, and supported as they move toward a life that feels more aligned and authentically their own.

Let's Talk
