What We Do
At GPS, our work is not defined by a specific group of people or a single therapy style; rather, it is guided by our mission of fostering healing and growth through relational mental health therapy. This means that the therapists—their experience, their heart, and their unique areas of expertise—are at the core of what we do best. The foundation of our work is the relational collaboration between therapist and client. It is a partnership in which therapists help facilitate change, while clients bring the tools and willingness necessary to heal and grow.
On a practical level, we offer specialized therapists for a variety of needs: children’s play therapists for young clients and their families, marital therapists, specialists for seniors, adolescent therapists, family communication experts, and a team dedicated to helping adults navigate life’s challenges toward healing and growth.
All members of our team are trauma-informed. Some directly address trauma and chronic stressors through specific therapeutic approaches, such as EMDR, while others provide a deep understanding of how trauma impacts the brain and behavior.
The relationship with the client is our foundation—on this base, our mission of healing and growth takes direction. Our therapists’ styles and areas of expertise vary, and you can learn more about each of them in their individual bios. Below are approaches commonly used by our team:
