Bio

I have been providing counseling services since 2008 and hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals, couples, and families across a wide range of life stages, and currently work with clients from 14 years of age to late life. My experience includes working in inpatient, residential, and private practice settings. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, grief, relationship distress, spiritually related issues, and more.

My counseling approach is rooted in compassion and a deep respect for each person’s story. I believe that people often come to therapy having already tried hard to overcome their challenges. I see my role as offering the additional support, perspective, and guidance that can help them to continue to move forward. I work to address not only the symptoms that cause people to seek help, but also the deeper questions of life, meaning, purpose, and worth that often lie beneath, helping people rebuild the foundations of their life and who they are. Structured methods of getting unmet needs met, breaking unhelpful patterns in thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and crafting practical solutions are incorporated into my processes. I believe healing involves not only finding relief from pain and solving problems, but also recovering a sense of purpose, identity, hope, and worth.

My work integrates cognitive behavioral, narrative, existential and other therapies, and I offer these within a Christian framework when desired by my clients.

Outside of the counseling office, I enjoy reading, studying philosophy and religion, running, spending time outdoors, playing games, watching movies, and being with friends and family.
