Bio

With over 25 years of experience working with men, students, and families, I bring a calm, practical approach to counseling that emphasizes hope, healing, growth, and joy. My work centers on helping people navigate life’s transitions, faith questions, and relationship challenges with authenticity and purpose.

I connect well with a wide range of clients — including college students, married and single men, teens, parents, clergy, healthcare professionals, and those who have felt hurt or disillusioned by church, institutions, or politics. My counseling style is grounded in empathy, insight, and collaboration — creating space for honest reflection and steady progress.

I offer perspective and support for those dealing with grief, depression, anger, anxiety, stress, work or school difficulty, communication struggles, and conflict resolution. I also provide premarital and couples counseling (including the Prepare/Enrich assessment), as well as guidance in vocational and career discernment, life transitions, caregiving, existential questions, motivation and focus, adolescent and young adult issues, faith and life direction, relational and vocational coaching, and challenges related to substance use or pornography.

Originally from Norman, Oklahoma, I graduated from the University of Tulsa and earned my master’s degree in Counseling from Asbury Theological Seminary in Kentucky. I also spent a year in Las Vegas working with Habitat for Humanity and AmeriCorps VISTA before returning to Oklahoma. My years in campus ministry at the University of Tulsa gave me a deep understanding of personal growth, spiritual formation, and resilience in everyday life.

While I have a unique background that allows me to thoughtfully address faith questions and spiritual difficulties, my primary focus is on mental health and emotional well-being, addressing faith and spirituality as clients wish to explore them.

I’ve been married for over 20 years and have a teenage daughter, both of whom keep me grounded and grateful. I continue to see clients at a church office in midtown Tulsa, where we can even use the gym to shoot baskets and talk, offering a comfortable, relaxed space for conversation. My primary practice location is with GPS Therapies in Broken Arrow; I also see clients online throughout the state — ideal for those who travel, attend school out of town, or face challenges with transportation, weather, mobility, or illness.

Whether we’re meeting in person or online, sitting across from each other or walking and talking, my goal is to meet you where you are and work together toward meaningful change.
