Note from Chris: Everything is connected in relationship

Spring has sprung and all kinds of cool things are happening at Chris King Counseling.

Currently happening:

New therapists hired

Continued growth in our client engagement

I took a week off to snowboard with my family which was awesome and painful in that order

We are looking at new building sites to accommodate our growth

Our admin functions have become strong, not just helpful in attitude, but in efficiency and effectiveness

Ribbon cutting at the new Bixby OK office site!

These things and others are reminding me of just what it is that we do. We are in the relationship business. While some of you may say- "um, duh… I knew this…" I want us to consider the depth of what that means. Its a huge deal, and in my mind, its THE DEAL.

We should note that the word relationship isn’t used just to describe an interaction between two people.

  • A relationship is literally a connection or association between two or more people, groups, or entities.

  • This means that everything is connected in relationship. Us and the people around us, us and the air we breathe, us and the spiritual space where we seek God, and even us and our conscious sense of self and our own life direction. I have some sort of relationship with everything and everyone I encounter.

  • Our work helps people define and improve any of their relationships, just like a location finder or map helps us understand where we are and where we are going. Our work meets a great need, as those who seek our help are struggling with a disorientation of some sort. Their worlds and life maps are not working, or have been completely obliterated. We help people heal and grow, using therapy.

  • We help people adjust and reorient their relationships with the world around them, the people around them, and lastly their own sense of self and direction.

Understanding where we are in these relationships is key to healing and growth. It is honest. If the map around us is true, we can make choices, tethering to helpful relationships, and moving forward on a meaningful journey in life.

When people need our services, their map, their orientation in life, where they stand, is in question. They don’t know where to turn to for help. We help them create that map. Sometimes people actually have a good sense of their orientation, an honest assessment of where they are in life, but they still need help in the actual journey of getting from where they are to where they need to be. We help with that part as well.

I love our work and am totally excited about our progress and direction this year.

  • If you want to visit about it with me, I invite you to just email me at chris@chriskingcounseling.com.

  • This could be about the potential of our services for yourself or people you love, or for partnerships and community engagement as well. Lets talk!

Happy Spring!
