Spring Check-in

Happy Springtime everyone!!

We are hard at work, and hopefully hard at play and rest on our time off. I pray each of you are too.

  • Spring blooms bring a sense of renewal, and a yearly reminder that there is new growth and season cycles can be counted on.

  • This can be heart warming, and for me, tends to bring hope after the months of a cold winter. Not that winter isn’t awesome and beautiful in its own right, but spring time is almost like the creator is saying- "Hey, remember that stuff still grows. Remember that new life is out there. Remember that this cycle is normal and good. Get outside. Do stuff with people you love.

  • Work and prepare soil.

  • Rest and build capacity for the work of life." All of this stuff goes through my mind. I am left with a "do what is important" vibe.

  • Spring (like New Years, but greener…) does provide a good reset- and my priorities are challenged in a helpful way.

  • With this spirit, I am sharing our revised core values list. It’s what we identify as most important for informing the work at Chris King Counseling.

I could riff and offer explanations on all of them, but I will keep them to a minimum for this writing. The value, among many, of articulating "core values" is that these are ideas we can gather around in our work. If you don’t believe these things, you can still work with us, but I expect that you would have a better experience working with a group of people whose values are more aligned with yours. These ideas give me energy, and I see our team operating energetically as well in the context of these values. Here they are:

  • People have inherent value and can heal and grow.

  • Orientation, and re-orientation in all relationships is the key component for healing and growth.

  • Physical foundations are essential for healing and growth.

  • Respectful and empathetic relationships are core to our work.

  • Our team has personal autonomy, balanced with a caring responsibility to the client, and each other.

  • Our workplace is characterized by opportunities for support and growth.

  • We facilitate helpful change within the individuals and communities we work with.

  • We are a part of an interdependent community of helping professionals and clients.

These core values inform our Mission: "We are on a mission to provide healing and growth through relational mental health therapy."

Welp, theres a whole book there if you want to lean into the ideas (I love doing that:) I wonder which of these resonates with you? Which of these are you curious about? Hit me up at chris@chriskingcounseling.com! I am so excited to lead and engage our community this year.

Blessings to you and yours!!
