Happy New Year, Friends!

Welcome to January 2026. Somehow, we are already more than five years removed from the COVID pandemic. I’ve been married for 32 years. Our counseling practice turns 12 this year. My children are now in their 20s. We’ve been in our new Tulsa building for over six months. And I’m closer to being 80 than I am to being 30.

Those are some wild numbers for me—and I suspect you have your own version of those numbers too.

Time Moves Fast

Time is strange. When things are going well, it feels far too short. When things are hard, it feels painfully long. But no matter what, time keeps moving forward.

That reality invites reflection—and it also invites intention.

Growth with Purpose

This will be a year of growth—not just in size or scope, but in the quality of the work we do every day.

We will pursue tangible goals, including:

  • Decreasing wait times for clients while preserving therapist autonomy

  • Strengthening the culture and effectiveness of our branch facilities

  • Building leadership and administrative systems that help us weather storms and move forward with confidence

Growth, done well, creates security—for our team and for those we serve.

Purpose Requires Action

When something matters—when there’s a goal worth pursuing—it’s time to begin. Time moves quickly, and looking back, it always seems to move even faster. Everyone talks about change, but progress comes from people of purpose and action.

So here’s a question worth sitting with:
If we do a few things differently this year—things aligned with our purpose and mission—what might be possible five years from now because we chose to act today?

The same is true personally. If I do something today for my body, spirit, soul, or relationships, what becomes possible tomorrow, next month, or next year because I made that choice?

A Year for Stability and Sustainability

My hope for this year is that we create greater stability and sustainability in our work. I want 2026 to be the year we look back on and say, that was the year things became permanent for GPS Therapies.

This is a year where we commit to getting better at our craft. A year where we grow our team with the right people—people who bring the right beliefs, care, and competency to serve those who trust us with their stories.

Our Shared Mission & Hope for the Year Ahead

Our mission at GPS Therapies is simple and meaningful: to provide healing and growth through relational mental health therapy.

You can join us in that mission by referring friends and family who may need care, and by sharing our work within your own circles.

As we step into this new year together, my hope—and my challenge—for all of us is this:
That we won’t wait to do the important things.
That we’ll get started.
And that we’ll follow through on what truly matters before this year slips by.
