Happy Holiday Season Team GPS!

You ever have a month where you said to yourself: "What happened here?  This has been kinda crazy, actually, a lot of crazy..."

Okay, my language is strong here and a little vague. Let me try again. This month has been beautiful, an unreal challenge, scary, exciting, new, and good. I am excited for Thanksgiving and all the Christmas stuff to bring back some normal vibe... How bout that? Better? Let me clarify.

A new member of the King tribe makes her entrance.

The biggest thing that happened was that our very own Maggie King Robinson gave birth to Rory Faye Robinson on November 7.  It was sooner than expected, and the challenges that she and Rory faced were no small thing.  It was also challenging for her Husband Ryan and all of us who love them so much.  Rory spent the next 10 days in the NICU at St Francis Children's Hospital and we all just loved on them, supported them, and cheered when they went home to start a new family life.  This is Maggie's first child, and our first Grandchild, and we are over the moon about this kiddo.  She's a 5 pound beauty and all of us are smitten, and I continue to be smitten by my own daughter as well.  She is the picture of grace and strength and will be an amazing mom, I mean, she already is that as we speak.

I was stopped in my tracks by so many things during this time: The decisiveness of medical professionals who save lives every day and provide compassionate care to people in their most vulnerable state. The team in labor and delivery, as well as the NICU are absolute rock stars. Full Stop. They are awesome. I was humbled and energized by their work.

I was also reminded that our work at GPS is also a life saving work, and we must take it seriously, and continue to look out for our own healing and growth in order to provide this from a strong personal posture.  Our clients need us, and we are responsible to help them heal and grow through relational mental health therapy.  It is an honor to do it.

Our team and many family and friends reached out and took up the slack for me during my absence, and also contributed door dash cards, amazon cards, crockpots full of good food, and pizzas. We were humbled and felt loved. I felt, again, a responsibility to respond likewise when those around me face unique challenges.

Thank you everyone for your example and your gifts of compassion and care to Rory, Maggie, Ryan, Ryan's family, and us.

The GPS direction is upward

Another crazy professional thing has happened with GPS, as each month we see more visits than the last (over 1700 in October).

Our therapy team is expanding! These incredible individuals will work with our existing folks to provide new opportunities for our clients to be served in every location.

Read the full bios and details here.

Get in touch with us to explore whether one of them may be able to meet the needs of you, your family members, or your friends.

We are so excited to grow the team, and will be working hard with them to create helping and referral relationships that promote healing and growth.

Lastly, if you work with any professional entities that may want to emphasize mental health support, get with me and let's help your people thrive!

Matching the need with the provider

Jody Fowler is the newest member of our administrative team and currently serves as our Referral and Growth Coordinator. I’ve known Jody for over 20 years, and her experience as a publisher, small business owner, and nonprofit project manager will be incredibly valuable as we continue to grow.

If you’d like to explore how GPS and our team can support your workplace, clients, church, school, or community, reach out to her at jfowler@gpstherapies.com.

She’s fantastic and already making a tremendous impact!

Onward and upward!!  One thing we can count on is change, and we plan to ride that wave, helping others as we go.

Thanks to each of you for your support and encouragement.  We are here for you.

- Chris
